The 2012 Grand National meeting kicks off at Aintree on Thursday and horse racing punters can look forward to three days of exhilarating racing on Merseyside.
The opening day of the meeting revolves around a number of horses that stole the show at this year’s Cheltenham Festival and odds-on backers will be hoping that Big Buck’s can get them off to a winning start in the Liverpool Hurdle at 2.00pm.
Paul Nicholls’ legendary staying hurdler has never been beaten over the smaller obstacles and the 1/4 available at
William Hill will still make plenty of appeal if he powers awar from his rivals in the same way he did in the race last year.
The star attraction on day one of the meeting looks set to be the Betfred Bowl and Ryanair Chase hero Riverside Theatre heads the betting for the Grade One. He was responsible for one of the performances of the Festival and with the likes of Medermit, Hunt Ball and Burton Port also lining up, he’ll have to be at his absolute best to win on Merseyside.
The bookies certainly seem to be encouraging fans to tackle Aintree’s card. You can place a £20 win bet on the Foxhunters’ Chase on Thursday and
BetVictor will credit you with a £20 free bet to use on the Topham Chase on day two.
If you're stuck in the office for this week's racing then there is no need to miss any of the action, because you can watch every race at Aintree streamed live on
